Markup may be there, but the expenses also have the same markup. Just saying.

You hit the nail on the head.

You need to figure out $/PPP/expense triad. It is complex. With time $/PPP will
probably shrink but demand/supply mismatch can significantly skew $/PPP/expense triad.

Given the complexity in my opinion if you are well set in USA no point in r2i frankly.

Great! So usa supplies water free.

In India, we are paying about $ 5/month at current conv. rates for govt. supply. Beyond that we pay another $5/month for the RO treatment.

In UK, I used to pay about £25/month 15 years back. That included sewage as well. Not delivery of sewage but disposal only.

In India clean air is of course not available and even etc. is not free.

Life after retirement and end of life, probably India may be a better choice. In the U.S, if you are terminally ill or towards end of life, the choice is to end up in a hospice care. A lot of middle class earners cannot afford home care towards end of life in the U.S, which may be more possible in India. I recently read a book called "Being Mortal" by Dr. Atul Gawande and it made me think maybe India is a better place to be towards end of life.

Yes food is surely a reason to r2i. Our cook makes the most amazing biriyani, chicken/mutton
preps. The fish items (hilsa, bhetki, pomfret etc) my mother/sisters make I don't think any five star
hotel can make them. So the kind of food I have enjoyed after r2i I would never have done it
if I were to lia.

Every weekend I will gorge 10-12 items. The only problem is I also need to work out
very hard (3hrs both sat/sun) on the gym with such binge.

So if you r2i you eat really yummy stuff but be prepared to work out really hard in gym
else you will be fat and completely out of shape in no time.

Your point is very valid. Going forward healthcare/hospice care will significantly
increase in US due to aging and increasing life span.

By retirement for lia candidates you need 3mil$ *2 = 6mil$ to make sure your last days
are taken care off. For r2i guys 2cr * 2 = 4cr should be ok.

So yes if you decide to lia you have to earn many times more no doubt about that.
