Plano, Texas To Bangalore

Post by a2b »

I relocated to Bangalore from Texas early this year to spend some time with my extended family - sister, brother-in-law and other.

Brought stuff via Universal Relocation: I've to make several calls to make sure I get all the boxes (I think 15 of them). All of them finally came but got 15 balls covered with birds poop instead of boxes. Most, if not all, were damaged...

If you want to transform a beautiful city -- abundant with greenery and a weather that would put most of Europe in shame -- to a wretched, run-down place, you give that to that people that run the city of Bangalore. They are unmistakably the pros!

There is a well written constitution and law in India. But it's just that - well written. It has never been implemented or even amended since the imperial rule. It's chaos all the time. You will never find a judge that won't legislate from the bench. The justice system in India has the distinct honour of being the "most corrupt" here.

All the big wigs that work for the Government (with of course a handful of rebels, honest bureaucrats I mean) are corrupt and they don't have any sense of honesty or commitment. But they are very enterprising and know how to rip off and loot tax payer money -- Commonwealth games, mining are a few happening of late.

And the list would go on...

In summary, the other side is always green. So think carefully before you relocate.
