My R2i from NC to Hyderabad
First of all thanks to R2iclubforum that helped me through my r2i process.
I am starting 3-4 months ahead my dairy as now I am sure that few of the important stuff is being taken care.
Here are my latest developments:
Rented Home for 2yrs lease that covers my monthly mortage and HOA.
I have to move out this April 1st, so rented an apt beside my younger kid school so that we can stay for next 3-4 months. I leased for 4 months short term lease.
Renting house was the biggest hurdle I crossed.
Now I am working on my Job transition and will be busy for next couple of months.
Packed all the furniture in boxes. Bought moving blankets from Lowes but realised my mistake until a friend commented during packing. Moving pads are expensive and instead you can buy Quilted comforters just under $15 in Old pottery or any store or in clearance which are far better than Moving pads
and later can be used in India or donated to poor. I have returned few pads and bought comforters.
I had two freinds who helped in packing and we packed all the furniture very effectively using bubble wraps, papers and shrink wrap.. Saw clips in youtube and learned how to do it.
Moving boxes are much cheaper and of good quality in Home depot currently on sale. Large boxes for $1.27 each.
You can also browse through craigslist to get few boxes for free from some moved localites.
Currently very busy in packing rest of the items to move to temp location for next 3 months.
Moved all furniture to my basement as I requested tenants to let me use basement until July. Luckily they accepted. That saved my storage rent.
Will keep posting my movements for next three months and provide some inputs that may help others in saving money.
We are moving into temp home with suitcases that are necessary for flight. So we are Flight ready.
Next three months we will travel, dine and enjoy final days in America ....
I have dealt with kids emotions when their beds and rooms are dismantled. I put them busy on other entertainment so that emotions are not high. Occassionaly my funny dancing performances in the evenings made them feel light:) Kids go through emotional pain, so definitely need to keep them in light moods, so we need to be patient.
That's all for today and will post as we move forward to R2Hyderabad..
