Can somebody who has installed and using internet in India (Hyderabad, if you want me to be specific with my location requirement:wink) guide me in deciding the Internet company.
I am trying to install internet that I could use for connecting to Onsite(USA), use VOIP like Skype or Magic Jack , I am looking at factors like Stability, Speed, Prompt of Installation, After sales service, cost, in that order of preference. I am not keen on getting a data card and will be looking at a modem based service initially.

Jeez!!!! it was liberating to post my first thread after being a passive reader for so many years now and sure it was a breeze to open account on this forum, thanks to the easy process.

Tata Photon seems to be making the number one spot though I cannot get the exact pricing or the upload speed. Will continue my research.

Here are the various companies I am planning on research. Will add more details as they become available.

Tata/Airtel/BSNL/MTNL(not sure if this is available in our area)

In Hyd Beam Tel is one company that seems to be ahead of the others. They seem to run fiber to several areas and have very competitive prices. I don't use them because my apartment community has "dictatorial" policies, but the multiple people at work swear by the quality of Beam's network.
