Jayashree,
We had a change of plan due to job and now going to Bangalore. Anyway, HSV did not give seat for us even after going through recommendation and all. So I was going to send my kids to Vael's Billabong, but now we are moving to bangalore.
Raguch,
I would suggest to try with Vaels Billabong in Neelangarai for last minute seats as they always have openings. My family visited the school and liked the environment and infrastructure. I had one referral from a friend who is also a NRI about this school. Beyond that, I don't know much about their teaching and all.

Sorry Raguch. I didn't notice that you live in Ashok Nagar. Vael's Billabong wont work for you. You could look at Chennai Public School I guess.

Nice, honest diary. We are in the same boat and have exact same reasons. 12+ yrs in US, time to go back. Coming back in Nov. So how is the return life? Am pretty sure first year will be hard - people say its the kids - but we also face equal challenges. Its a good learning experience, which is truly worth it - whether you RTA or not.
So what caught me is your word abt tennis - i play pretty much everyday here (5.0 level). Where in chennai are you? we will be in thiruvanmiyur. Am not familiar with chennai (originally from coimbatore) - would appreciate your help on info on clubs etc.
Also, you mentioned your vizio just works with PAL. I see that vizio models mostly do 110-240v, but just now got confirmation from vizio support that none of their models support PAL. Is it bcos u you use HD and it just doesnt matter?
This forum is great - good to see many people going back to roots, most importantly, willingly. Thanks all.
Oh, before i forget - do u recommend Air7Seas?
Regards

I am also looking to play tennis with good players. I am also a decent player USTA rating 4.0. I asked you to PM me and I just read that new members cannot PM unless they post 10 meaningful messages to avoid spam. I noticed you are also pretty new and cannot PM.

You are right about PM - i just cant :) Please email me at
[email protected] and we will go from there. You already made my day that i can find some 4.0 in thiruvanmiyur - would have been shame otherwise for 3 new racquets that i picked up recently for good dough :)
So hey, i had a question on your comment on vizio tvs - none of them here claim PAL, but you mentioned it just works fine. Is that unadvertised?

GGRAJAN, I read your R2I diary and it is quite informative. We are planning to R2I when the current school year finishes (summer 2011). We are four (me, wife, daughter 10 and son 7) and all are US citizens with OCI. I am in IT mid management with PMP and SAP BI background.
If you don't mind, can I connect with you via email so I can get few pointers on the job front? I don't have enough posts to PM you but if you can send your email to me at makaleem at optonline.net that will be great.
I have been reading the forums for past two years and read all the diaries of returnees to Chennai. It has helped us tremendously in setting the right expectations and also to educate ourselves on the issues one can face in terms of settling down. My main concern is the job and based on what I have read so far on these forums, it is better to R2I with a job offer rather than going over there and finding one. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Meelak

ggrajan,
Have you changed the school for your kids yet or are they still in chennai public school? Please let me know if you find a good school in mogappair or annanagar. I will be moving in 2012 to chennai and will be living in one of these areas.
