Dear Rocky,

Like you I've an MS EE with Civil BE. I am planning R2I and having a hard time finding jobs related to EE in Bangalore. I saw your messages in this forum and would be really grateful if you can let me know some of your insights on securing a job. My MS thesis was in remediation of metals and got to publish couple of papers. My six years of work experience includes a lot of remediation projects (SVE system management) for both private and federal sectors. I have experience in preparing all sorts of reports, air compliance, SWPPP, SPCC. I have also conducted a lot of work at mines, evaluating their permits etc. Worked with lot of drill rigs conducting drilling, well installations. Do you think I have any chance at all securing a job in India? Would it possible for you to let me know what sort of salary should I be expecting (albeit, you don't know so much abt my experience). Thank you.

R2I-2019;262405Air Pollution, interesting. They didn't have that for us in my Masters here in US.

Most jobs I see on monsterindia are in waste water. I have heard from people that future is in solid waste, since there are no engineered landfills in India. As all of you know the problem is growing by leaps and bounds. But so is air pollution/water. In these professions you will be dependent on govt contracts or companies that get those contracts. Don't know good or bad. CDM USA has job posting in Chennai.

Wastewater on the other hand does have potential for private contracts. I worked in marketing for 3yrs after masters but will move back to engineering this year.

I hear lot of noise about potential of this field in India but unable to get any grasp so far.

I have worked on a couple of projects for municipal waste recycling (50k+ TPY) here in SYdney. The projects were based on French and Israeli cocnepts resp, claimed 90% diversion of waste from landfills and have cogen capabilities. I heard that the French co proposed similar plant for Kolkata but got turned down. I agree this has to be the way out for India's problem with debris mountains in perhaps all towns. Would be interested to learn how this sector is growing in India.
