Does OCI for Kids require renewal ?

My son was 6 yrs old when he got his OCI. (He is a USC)
We are living in India (R2I-ed 1.5 yrs ago)

My question is, as my son grows, his photo on the OCI is still going to be a picture when he was a kid.
Does the OCI need any updation. I know the OCI does not expire. Its a lifelong visa. But how does it work for kids ?

Any ideas anyone ?

For kids OCI needs to be renewed every 5 years when their passport expires. It is not compulsory, but its best if u have time and can get it done. Everyone does it when they go for a new passport every 5 years as facial features change. But in case u cant get it renewed on time, u can still travel with new passport and old expired passport which has the lifelong sticker and the OCI booklet. If there is time, I would recommend to get it done. Renewing is fairly easy I beleive.
