Non-receipt of US Citizenship interview letter (Lost in postal mail)

We (myself and wife) applied for US citizenship in June 2011. We completed fingerprinting in July 2011 and also received yellow notice that notifies us what documents we need to carry to the interview in late August. On September 14th, we received email notifications from USCIS stating that we have been scheduled for an interview and that we should receive our interview letters in mail shortly. My wife received hers on September 18th but I am yet to receive mine. As suggested in the email from them, I called National Service Center to report the non-receipt of letter case and they gave me a tracking number and told me that they would pass the case on to the local office (Newark in our case). I was also told that I would hear from them in 30 days from the day I called (September 30th) which would be by October end.

My wife's interview is scheduled for October 24th and I am assuming that mine would be on the same day. I am wondering if I should wait for 30 days for their call or if I should open an Infopass to speak with the local office. Has anyone else gone through a similar situation? Will they let me interview without a letter on October 24th (in case I don't get to speak to them?)

Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

After not finding a suitable answer for my problem, I went ahead and scheduled an Infopass apointment with Newark Service Center. Went to Newark office for my Infopass appointment this morning. There was no rush. Simply told the officer that I received a notification about my citizenship interview but haven't received the written notice in post. He asked for an id, went inside and got me a copy of my appointment letter. Interview set for next week. I was in and out in 25 minutes. I am really glad the I opened an Infopass without waiting for 45 days as they suggest. They asked me no question about whether I contacted NSC for this etc.
