Hello --

I hope somebody could quickly answer this -- we are visiting India in late-June for 4-5 weeks, and wanted to apply for OCI for my minor son, who is a USC, but were told that it might not be possible to get the card in time for our travel, hence was looking into visas for India. What would be the correct category -- it seems the Entry Visa is the cheapest, but wanted to ensure we are eligible to apply for that? Both my wife and me are GC holders, and Indian nationals/citizens. Really appreciate the responses, by forum members.

The visit seems short enough for a e-tourist visa. It is being touted as the fast way to get a visa to India.

Indian Tourist visa for US nationals has been simplified after Modi became PM. USCs can now get 10 year multiple entry Tourist visa to India for a nominal fee of $100 only.

This gives you the option to apply for OCI later at a convenient time.

Can you tell us what you endup doing?

Also did anyone recently got Indian visa for infant? or share someones experience?

I see eTV being the cheapest, I think around $50.

For 5 years visa they mention $240 visa fees for infant, I don't see any option for 10 yrs visa.

I plan to apply OCI but all complex rule of transferring sticker after new passport etc makes this complicated.
