For OCI card holders if you are planning to return to India and children wants to study in India.

1. For getting into IIT, need to clear JEE mains + advanced (like Indian citizens).
For foreigners some seats are reserved, but OCI card holders are not eligible for these reserved seats.

I have sent a letter to Ministry of Human Resource development (India - MHRD) to correct this.
i.e. Give seats reserved for foreigner quota should be given to OCI card holders as well.

2. If OCI card holders want to get into NIT (previously known as Regional engineering colleges),
person has to give Subject SAT (Maths, Physics and Chemistry).

Many OCI card holders are returning to India, demand is high for Computer Science and for reputed NITs.

is there difference in tuition for local indians vs foreigners coming through the reserved quota system? if yes, are you prepared to pay the higher fees to avail of the special quota. My feeling is that most OCIs want to avail of the special quota while paying the same fees that local indians pay.

You are mistaken. There are no seats reserved for foreigners. They are called supernumerary seats.

Here is now foreigner can get into IIT.
1. They can skip JEE mains ( that's the only advantage)
2. Write JEE advanced and get a common rank . ( e.g. say AIR ( All India Rank) 2000).
3. Choose seat as per your rank(in general quota. There is no reservation) , so for rank 2000, lets say foreigner gets IIT-Bombay Metallurgy. Now, IIT Bombay metallurgy has 30 seat capacity. Because foreigner chose one of the seats, the total number of seats in Metallurgy is increased to 31. SO no Indian is denied seat because of foreigner.
4. Pay 3 times the fee.

So, why would OCI choose foreign quota and pay 3 times fees, when he can get normal Indian fees seat for same rank.

Please get the facts and withdraw your petition, its meaning less.
