Hello,
Does anyone have any new/updated information on this. I am in a situation where my kid is born in India. Applied for US passport and did get it. Now, when I went to FRO,Hyderabad, I was told to apply for the first indian visa at MHA, New Delhi. Following which the registration and OCI can be applied in India.
Has anyone applied for Visa in MHA, Delhi? And do they actually give the Visa in Delhi or some envelope which needs to be taken to local FRO?

I got the first visa from Secretariat Office as recommended by FRO, HYD in Gachibowli. Its not required to go to Delhi for first visa.
