USC/OCIs settled in India - Nationality ???

Post by KirKS »

It depends upon the occasion. If it's a ticket to let's say Hampi temple or Taj Mahal tour where you buy ticket, see and get out, one may chose to just go with 'Indian' cap. Not any significant savings in terms of $, but it's the Indian mentality.

For cases where they may ask for passport copy, one does walk the right line. in an ideal case, one needs to always say he/she is a foreigner.

In most of the places they don't ask your nationality; here is the rule of thumb - if you are filling up a form I go by the right thing that is USC, but for all others I go by indian tag. This is what I found out in ~6 months - you don't get any leverage here by mentioning USC other than ppl jack up the price and if they are not selling anything they tend to put down all things US for no reason...
