I am planning to buy washing machine, Fridge, Dish washer, Microwave and Oven as soon as I go to India. I have heard that the electricity charges go really high if you have too many appliances. Is that true?
How high does it get. No idea how India calculates electricity charges for apartments.

I have bought Grinder and Mixer here in US (110 volts) and would like to use them there with a transformer/converter. I have heard that apartments do not get enough power to run all these 110 volts and the transformer keeps bursting. Anybody gone through that experience?

Everything will work, don't worry.
Just don't expect it ti run from day one you receive it. Just to some background work and you should be good to go.
Which city are you headed to?
