Am an OCI and having a home even before went to USA (relatives living in part of it--free ) and me paying electricity/water/property taxes from decades.I have all proofs needed like PAN,Bills etc.
Now as an OCI can I get 'Aadhar'?
Any advise please.
Thanks.

If you are looking for subsidize gas then only aadhaar will be required (So far it is available to everyone but slowly all Gas company need Aadhaar to transfer subsidize money to you bank account). All other places no need of Aadhaar. You can live without Aadhaar number is India if you have other id proofs. Aadhaar is a proof of Identity and anybody who is residing in India can get it, OCI is also eligible for it.

Thanks.Y'day I applied for it because they say in future they may ask for every thing.
But after after applying, different people are coining different versions here regarding eligibility aspect (though it looks like 'aadhar' mentions that it is not for 'proof of citizenship . UDAI is silent about the aspect).

UDAI is pretty much clear in this aspect that't why they have mentioned in the Aadhaar that it is an identity proof and not a proof of citizenship. It's rather some people who are not aware about Aadhaar, don't buy their logic you are good to get Aadhaar.

I remember reading somewhere that Aadhar is for all Indian residents regardless of citizenship.

Aadhar is for Residents of India. Even the Aadhar software on completion says Resident's application is successful. There's no question about citizenship in the Aadhar application form. Only address is asked. Nowhere does it say you have to be resident etc. So wondering if there is any special application form for resident foreigners or whether its all one and the same.

We used the normal form as a resident with foreign passport. they did try to dissuade us from using the foreign passport but we insisted. It took perhaps half an hour.

Yes. I agree. In appliction , there is no information asked about the citizen.
Indian Government says aadhar card for resident purpose only not for citizen.
Any one can live in India and have aadhar card for resident identity.
