One another thing that annoys me is that we, as Indians, do not know how to stand in line. I almost had a fight three times in Bangalore. In a hospital, in a coffee shop, even in some other stores, people just hover around you, but do not stand in line and wait their turn. Forget about the 'desi gawaar' types - seemingly well-educated folks do that too..w

One of my mentors had been to Germany. He said that, in Germany, even if there are three people on the bus stop and their bus has 15 minutes to leave, they'll still get in by forming a line. This has been in-built in their blood because in WWII, if you tried to break a line you were in, you'd get shot at by the Gestapo!!

Although this is extreme, we as a civilization have never been exposed to such a discipline!!

Are you suggesting that us not having our own desi Gestapo is the cause for this? funny!

In my experience so far, many (most?) customer service people lie to me in order to get off the hook and to make me feel better. " We will do it today evening sir". "Surely by tomorrow 100% it will be done". "My manager will call you in 4 hours sir".

So far I have had to sound angry twice and make vague threats like taking someone to Consumer court. I don't like to do this but it is abosulutely needed. Thankfully I have not lost it completely yet. I need to toughen up to get things done here fast.
