What I would suggest is if possible get a job first in USA and apply for USC right away. Future is uncertain and unpredictable. As the years pass by one’s health, working capacity, etc. take a toll and other issues might arise in future that one can’t foresee now.
It will not be possible for you to keep moving back and forth not only due to adjustment issues but how are you going to manage both the homes, and the tensions and problems associated with them.
If your son goes to USA in future then again retrogression, Visa backlog, heavy queue for India born people, etc will again arise.
How will you keep GC active is again difficult as you have to keep going every 1-2 years to US and you need time, money, etc and there is stress associated with it. Do not abandon the GC, at the least maintain it. You are among the lucky few that has got it what people dream of.
Decide where you want to live for long – term but your priority should be getting USC first as it will broaden your options and you can live wherever you want as your entire family will be citizens. But, as time passes by things will not be easy anymore; and you will again have to work hard and start from scratch wherever you choose to live. Forget about India’s hype.
If you want, you alone can go and file USC and your family can live in India for the time being.
