moneyIsNot_funny;140918Something tells me that you haven't adequately prepared for R2I. Minimum 200 hours of actual Wii-ing experience is required.
Has the time come to start the R2A forum, since these topics have gained traction in various forums. We can move all in one place.

mn_op;140884Despite all the reported violence, I found Mumbai a pretty safe place. You can roam around in Colaba past midnight without being bothered.

I have done that (almost 15 years ago!) and loved the asiatic library steps where one could find lots of pretty girls studying in the late evenings.
In Chennai if you roam after 12-00 PM, police are likely to stop you and ask you if you are LTTE :emsmileo:

the reason that they are asking this is that they themselves are afraid of LTTE:emwink:

dbs;141161I was happy when I came back, happy at the 3 month mark as well as the 2 yr. mark and now 3 yrs and counting(not really). I was away for the 14 year banbas (like Bhagwan Ram's 14 yrs banishment, though of my own doing and not forced.)
I have been frequently termed as an adaptable guy, so may be that is the answer. As I said earlier, I was happy abroad as well and had and still have some good friends there.
The only point that rankles is the lack of a good library. Abroad I could borrow almost any book sooner or later and if I really like it buy. Here I have to buy to find out that it is not worth keeping. I do have lot of space and if I wanted to could keep on storing every junk. But when I want to reread or refer to a book, it gets more and more difficult to locate it.
So that is my rant.

CoolMBA,

I recently R2Ied. My Case is exactly the same as your friend2. I moved to US at initial stage of my career. My friends started becoming managers in India, and due to GC processing, Visa problems, I could not see myself on growth path if I had stayed. So I R2Ied and got a Manager position. Now I face the same problem as your friend like long hours, tight schedule, just people management, no planning, chaotic and random way of working. So Idea of R2A started coming to my mind.

Also due to uncertainity in work life, it is not possible to plan vacation and enjoy festival, other family occasions with family which was also one of the reason for R2I. Though it is not always true but it may be true many times.

I have no problem on other things like traffic, corruption etc. Also on personal front I like living here but do not mind US as well . The only thing I do not like is work life which I think is as important as your personal life.

I had noticed that if one is retired, and therefore no "work life", life can be much better in des....well...almost, there was this question about the lack of libraries.....

I've heard that women need to be "adjust"-able and now it looks like men ought to be "adapt"-able.
A good solution would be to find a library and get a job there.

I have heard of private at home delivery lending libraries, in Banglore & Delhi. Have you tried these ? Apparently you have to call them and they will deliver the books to your home, and take your previously borrowed book. I do similar stuff for DVD's for myself.
