Hi,
My container has been loaded and is in the sea now. My shipper wants full payment now although my stuff will not arrive in India until the last week of the May ? Is it the normal or abnormal ? I find it hard to believe that we have been asked to make full payment now when the shipment is not expected to reach India for more than a month ?? Can some one else share their past experiences with us..

When you mail/parcel anything through Fadex/USPS/UPS, you have to pay first in full than only shipping process starts. The same way when you move your stuff through movers or packers (or relocators), they will ask you to pay full in most of the cases. For any damage or lost of (valuable) items thay will ask you to take insurance.
When is final payment due ?
It is perfectly normal to pay upfront for your shipping. I did that too. My stuff arrived fine in chennai after 6 weeks.
