Shipping Experiences - VMB Relocations

Post by kal_ram »

Hi,

We are moving to India in July 2010 and was looking at different movers. We are moving from Nashville to Hyderabad. I just came across VMB Relocations and want to know if your experiences with them.

Thanks

Hi Kal_ram,

I have also moved my stuff from Boston to Delhi through VMB relocations. They took my stuff on 20 May. I am in touch with Mohan who is coordinating the shipment. Still waiting for shipment to arrive.

Shipping Experiences - VMB Relocations

Post by pzm9zl »

I just recently moved to USA from India...reversing my earlier move to India. I used VMB relocations for both of my trips. My shipping journey to India from USA was okay. In the first journey, they lost 3 bags filled with show pieces. Based on an okay experience, decided to use them again for the return shipping back to USA.....very bad decision in hindsight.

The first part of packing and shipping from India went okay. Everything went wrong once the shipment arrived in New York. Mohan (VMB Relo') partners with a shipping company (Gregory - GDK International). Gregory is a piece of work....he lies practically every time, does not return calls back and his staff can get rude really fast. Mohan himself is a hustler...smooth talker who will tell you things that will make you happy and will also lie without any hesitation.

In end, I got charged $1000 more than what I had in contract on the threat that I will not get my stuff till I paid up, lost two pieces of big bags and got my stuff about 4 weeks later than what I had promised.

I unfortunately had recommended VMB Relo' to another friend of mine who also was relocating from India back to USA. He actually had a worse experience than me and he is still fuming after about 4 months of coming back.

Avoid this individual (Mohan Baweja) and the company (VMB Relocations). They try to get your business by providing lower upfront cost which then starts increasing once they have your stuff.
