R2I'ing to Gurgaon in 2 months - Help

Dear friends, i just LOVE this site, OMG i have been an on-and-off of this site for the last few months and i could not even cover a tenth of it.
Anyways, i am in currently in the US, got a job offer in Gurgaon and will be moving late March or early April. I have a few questions, and really not much time to read through the entire site. So, i am hoping experienced folks can help me.
1) First of all, i am from Hyd and completely new to the GGN area. If any folks have R2I'd there recently, i am defnitely looking to make acquaintances. Please PM me.
2) Electronics:
a) A very basic question. I do understand that i am going to need a step-down transformer for every electronic item from the US that is 110V. My question is whether there is a universal attachment that i can just plug-unplug to any US electronic or do i have to buy separate ones for each. I saw a few web sites that offer these transformers but there are many with different wattages. I am confused about which electronic needs which wattages.
b) I am going to be taking a receiver, TV, DVD player, WII, Bose speakers, all of which need to connect to a power source. Can i get one device with many outlets that will do the step-down for all the devices connected to it, or should i buy multiple? I did read about the Altona HD 560 that can make my US TV operable in India (i have a 67" Samsung DLP projection TV from Costco that i wish to take). Anything else i need? Is it better to buy a surge protector in India, or here? Once again, can all these entertainment devices connect to the same protector?
c) I am planning to buy another wall-mount LCD TV. Can i buy the cheap wall-mounts here, will they attach properly to the Indian brick walls?
d) All the wiring for speakers and such, does any one know of any professional installers in GGN area that can do a clean job of concealing the wires professionally?
3) Schools: I need admission for my daugther who is 4 years old. Can some one suggest any good schools that will still give her admission?
Please pardon the length of the post, and understand that i really have very little time to plan. As such, your assistance shall be greatly appreciated.
