Reporting to RBI before/after buying an apartment in India...

Post by NewAshe »

I have read some conflicting articles regarding the reporting requirement to RBI for a foreign citizen buying a property in India. Since a PIO/OCI holder is granted NRI status the requirement may be different. Can any one with good knowledge shed some light on the requirement to report the buying/selling of property (Apartment, plots etc) by a non Indian Citizen in India?
