Hi All,
I will be r2i in apr 2010. My son would be 3.5 yrs old and little one would be 6 months old after living for 4 yrs in US.
Any recommendation for good pediatrician in Pune (near Kothrud). I am looking for someone who knows/undersands the immunizations and methods in US. Also some one with whom I can contact on email.

What is the typical immunization schedule for kids in India? Does anyone have chart etc?

Has anyone R2I with small kids , what difficulties did you face as far as pediatricians/immunizations is concerned.

tara2201, Did you find any good pediatrician in Kothrud area. I will be moving soon with 4 month old. She would have her 2 month and 4 month immunizations but lookign for some one to follow up from month onwards. Iam sure there are some India specific vaccin

Regarding immunizations in India. In general there are more shots required over here than in USA. Just bring your US immunization record to the doctor's office and they will let you know what is lacking. Some of the doctors will ask you to go to another clinic/hospital which specilizes in immunization to get the shots since the doctor's office does not usually store the shots required.

Usually kids will fall sick with cold/cough for first 6 -8 months a lot more when they return from US. Also their skin will react more to mosquito bites initially.

Sorry i do not know much about pediatrician's in kothrud area. But once you move in you can ask around in the apartment complex and usually you will end up with a good pediatrician nearby. It really helps to have the doctor closeby.
