How is the commute from Magarpatta city to Hinjewadi?? Is it a nightmare as I am imagining it to be?

I am planning to r2i to possibly to pune within next 12 months, trying to figure out what's the best place to live? (from the perspective of r2iers - I assume you all agree our inclination to look for gated communities that provide good aminities and security).

BTW, other than Magarpatta city, are there any other such reputed gated communities in pune?

Thanks

Hinjewadi and Magarpatta are at the opposite ends of the city, so yes it will be a nightmare. Magarpatta is famous because its a large township with office, school, shopping area, nearby hospital, etc. But if you are going to work elsewhere and put kids in an established school elsewhere, then you can just as well live in any large complex with gym/pool, close to shopping, etc.

Hi Friends,

Very soon I will be moving to Magarpatta. I was wondering if you can help me with following items,

- Whom and where should I contact for getting a cooking gas cylinders (as per my understanding Magarpatta does not have gas pipelines)?

- Whom/where should I contact for getting internet connection (as per my understanding TATA Indicom are the exclusive provider of internet in Magarpatta)? Do they have office somewhere within Magarpatta?

Thanks for the help.

1. There is H P gas, outside M'patta.. in Hadapsar.. right next to Sahyadri hote.. (where Kondhwa Rd connects with Solapur Rd)
020 - 268 90784
2. Tata Indicom - I have been using it for some time... fairly good quality - Mr. Patil - 9225505680

I submitted an appl with BSNL (10 months ago) no idea what happened to it :-)

Laburnum Park's construction is good, room size's are bigger. Inside the M'patta city it is clean. But thats all. If you are spending 1.10 Cr you want to get privacy. But there are many flats where upstair people can see your bedroom very closely. Landscaping is very bad. They have just put few cheap quality plants. There is no Swimming pool. No play ground for kids of 10yrs old and more. If you play basket ball people in ground floor may object as it is very close to there bed room.
The property tax is 2.5 times than outside Magarpatta. You will be paying around 25K for 4 bedroom flat in Laburnum park. But outside Margarpatta it is around 10K for same size. So you are paying tax for your flat as well as the city. In the municipality tax receipt it is said as occupier not owner. So you don't won the flat.

Inside Magarpatta the cost of vegetables are atleast 50% higher than outside. That too very bad quality. There are too few shops but too many people. To get anything from outside you have to drive quite far.

Solapur road is notorious for accident and bad traffic. But that is main road to go to camp or Hardapsar. You may take Munduwa road. good Schools are quite far, unless you are happy with Magarpatty city school.

My suggestions would be that if you are doing job in Magarpatta city then it make sense to stay in this city. Else you stay in some other place. BTW if you get a job in Hinjewadi and you live in Magarpatta. Then I sould say god bless you. Its toooo far and too much of BAD traffic.

So before making decesion try to understand all the possible trouble you would take.

Jai hind.
