Hi dark angel and all others who can help,
I'm looking to move back to chennai after 10 years abroad. We plan to look for a flat on rent in adyar/mylapore as our home is in chinmaya nagar and we're looking for schools in adyar/mylapore area.
Dark Angel, how easy/hard was the flat hunt process for you? How many weeks did it take and does the house satisfy your initial requirements? And what process did you follow?
And all other chennai - ites, where are these papers with ads available? Asking because we are in chinmaya nagar, no own transport currently, so if you could mention name of supermarket and which area/location it is in, we could go there
and get it. We also don't have any relatives in that part of town. So should we go to adyar/mylapore in the morning, get
a copy of the paper, and spend the day calling/looking at flats?
I'm really confused as I have 2 small kids and hubby is still working abroad, any help would be greatly appreciated,

It's been 3 yrs since we relocated to Chennai and we live in Tiruvanmiyur (near Adyar, South Chennai)
There are plenty flats for rent around the Adyar (and further south) area. I suggest you start your search using Property Plus (Saturday edition of The Hindu Newspaper) also check the local papers like Adyar Times, Downtown etc. Sulekha.com is another great resource.
Mylapore is too congested and i doubt if you will get a spacious apt at a reasonable cost. Perhaps, some of us can make some suggestions if we know the place of work/schools etc.
