cmdrsk;569349I am personally mot aware of anyone who moved with kids in higher grades. All I know are people with kids in grades 6 or lower. I am speaking of people who lived in US for 10+ years.
I myself moved when my kid was going to 3rd grade. Third year in chennai still my Kids talks about wanting to return to US.
My kids started 9th & 7th back in 2011 summer @ Vaels (Chennai). The move was planned for 2011 since both kids needed to change schools in California (to High school & middle school), so a "minor" change was anyway happening. Plenty of kids with similar background, so it was easier on them. I wouldn't say that they were thrilled re-locating to India (the usual challenges that American born kids face in Chennai - weather, ... - & then there is the teenage blast sweeping through), but still adjusted quiet well (couple of pets helped :-), along with finding a good set of friends - so selecting the right school is important !!). BUT they do want to get back to USA for college - which I have promised them, if they get into a "good" university in USA (not considering the Ivys, Stanford, etc as that would be an unfair carrot to hold out). Elder one is completing 12th (A-level - Cambridge) and has applied to couple of universities in USA - early action application.

That's a really comprehensive website. Are they many such providers of such service in India?
Though I would suggest taking some of the information on that site with a pinch of salt - 'read but verify'. For example in their AP related FAQ
http://usaunivquest.com/usauniv/2/11/19/FAQs.aspx the answers to questions number 3, 4 and 5 are not entirely accurate as far as I know.
If I were using UnivQuest for my kid in 8-11th grade, I would read the site, and talk with them, but post on CollegeConfidential to confirm some things. Especially for things that can vary from college to college, even within the same University location.
I don't know much myself, so read but verify. :) Like - I just realized UnivQuest is FIITJEE!

Early Action application deadlines (Fall 2015 admission) were around Nov 1 timeframe for many universities - so October 1st week was the last chance for SAT. But many universities have regular admission deadlines around Feb, so SAT can be taken in December too / even Jan should be fine. It takes 3 weeks after the test for scores to be received. Scholarship apps generally have earlier deadlines. The universities my son is interested in had mostly Nov 1 as deadline. He has chosen a very focused major, so less colleges fit our needs ; much against my advice since my personal opinion is that it is better to be broad in undergrad and narrow in Masters. But then, being the "older" generation, I nowadays try to hedge my bets :-). AND if u are considering Princeton Review for SAT coaching, they were useless - at least in Chennai. One final point to consider - better to provide time for 2 SAT sittings - I know many of my friends' kids wrote SAT twice (including mine) - in USA & India - scores have improved by ~100 points in general (out of 2400).
