Need a suggestion from you guys .
We have used Marbles for flooring in the house.
we have plan to put all those broken marble pieces in the terrace along with loose mosaic chips .
we have weathering coarse of 5 inch thickness and on top of it we are planning to lay those broken marble pieces along with loose mosaic chips.
Is this a good practice ???
Technically is there any problem in the long run ???
Will there be any water seepage through the top layers (broken marble pieces packed with loose mosaic chips) in the long run ??
will there be any problem in the joins between marble pieces and loose mosaic pieces, as this layer is exposed directly to sunlight in the daytime ...
How about heat absorption in the terrace.. will there be any excess heat absorption ....

Architects and engineers. provide your valuable suggestion

I am not an architecht, but here is my 2 cents. We have done this in our house in India, but that was 16 years ago. It was an in thing at the time. Over the years, the marble pieces chipped and some ugly gaps formed that are now filled with dust. Since it is the terrace, maintenance will not be similar to that of other floors and it will show. Moreover, I think its a pretty outdated style.

Check out Hindustan Tiles website...they have much better options.

If you are in need of heat reflection and better interior temperature..Check out Thermatek tiles. Cost about 55Rs/sq.ft and then laying will be about 20-25 Rs/sq.ft
