I am moving to Bangalore this november. I will be working from Embassy Golf links park. My wife will be working out of Manyata Tech park. I have no idea about the place. Please let us know a decent pace to live considering the following points.
* We do not want to live way outside the city, my wife doesn't mind traveling to office(got office shuttle from the city I heard)
* Rent ~15K (Can stretch, but is this significantly low for a decent place?)
* 1 or 2 BHK (Just me and my wife)

Let me know few areas where I can start hunting for a decent accommodation?

Manyata is N.Bangalore and Embassy Golf links is near Domlur. Distance between the two is around 15 kms. It may take an hour or more to travel depending on the time of the day. You can live inside the Outer Ring Road and get to both offices in 30-45 min or so. Depends on the mode of transport for both.You may want to live in a place close to one of your work place.

There are no 1 BHK concept in bangalore if you want to rent an apartment. What's your definition of "decent". That would decide the rent. 15k may be a bit lower in a multi storied apt complex.

You can look for houses in Murgeshpalya, Vinayak Nagar. These places will be closer to Embassy Golf links. But your wife can get shuttle from Old Airport road to Manyata. Alternatively you can also check in Kasturu Nagar, half way between Manyata and Domlur. Its a BDA layout and nicely developed residential area.

I also heard about Jeevan Bhima Nagar and New Tippasandra. Any idea about these locations? Hows public transport in these areas?

Though these locations are little inside to the old Airport Road or old Madras road, these are also good residential areas. Jeevan Bhima Nagar bus depot has buses to all major places in Bangalore including BIAL.

But since you mentioned that your wife will be working in Manyata, it may be difficult for her as commutation may take around 2hrs peak hours using company transportation and may take around 1 or 1.5hrs on bike or car. But for you, it'll be around 40min commute in peak hour if you come through Indira Nagar. Old airport road may also take around 30min if you take Wind tunnel road.
