I am interested in knowing about the NPS entrance test experiences from others who have taken it , especially from NRI parents who have went through this before.

My kid may be taking the entrance test for 2nd grade admission. We have been told test will be on Math,English and Hindi. No special considerations for Hindi even though he has never studied hindi before.

Also they said we need to take the entrance exam even if you are not in India. As my kid will be finishing school in June :e, we might need to make a special trip to India just for the entrance exam.

Does anyone know any way to do the test after admission or in June .
Thanks!

Hi,
We returned last year and both my kids got into NPS. They were entering 5th and 2nd grade. The tests in Math and English should be inline with what they have learnt at the US.
They both went to Balvihar - where they had the basic knowledge of Hindi - but zero comprehension. The Hindi test was only for the older one. The younger one didn't have to do it.

We gave a letter to the school re:Hindi and during the entrance exam my son also wrote on top of the paper that he is attempting the test - but doesn't really know Hindi. They waived it, since he is a transferee (I guess).

You will have to appear for the entrance exam and make a trip for that in April - there is no other choice as far as I know. The results were out in a couple of days. This is mostly because the number of seats vacant in each grade is just one or two. They may not hold it for you until June.

All the best!

Thanks so much for the info. Appreciated ! !!

Which NPS your kids are going ? Did they waive off Hindi as you were NRI ? Is there any NRI quota ?

I am not sure of "Balvihar" you are referring to.

Please share more details. I am kind of getting nervous to know that we have to go for entrance test ....
