Hi,

We are in the process of returning to Hyderabad mid August to early September, that is 5-8 weeks from now. Could anybody provide insights into reliable cell phone service providers in Hyderabad among Airtel, Idea, Tata Indicom, Hutch etc in terms of network availability, pricing etc.

Thanks,
Micky

If you want to escape from not picking up the call or ignore the call, and say to your callers that you did not receive any call due to signal issues, DO NOT go for AIRTEL.

Hutch has snatched the good slogan "Hutch network follows where ever you go", but, in reality, it is AIRTEL, which follows you where ever you go in AP.

i dont like airtel, have been with it for 1.5 yrs, it sucks, call drops, network congestion, the works, this networks got it all.

i have reliance too for the past month, and i am very happy with it so far, real clear calls, and no dropped calls yet, so thats a good sign.

Thanks for the responses. I am more confused now, I might have to do some additional research on Airtel and Reliance.

Any idea if we could get a mobile number when not physically present in Hyderabad.

- You can get the mobile service in under 5 mins.
(Mumbai airport has shop on your way out of the airport).
- Pricing wise not much of a difference
- I have been using hutch in HYD. Never had any issues with network.

Thanks for the replies. Any insights whether pre-paid (using the cards to load minutes) or post paid is better in Hyderabad.

Thanks,
Micky
