Tax Q: Tax liabilities for indian returning green card and on business visa

Hello,

I have returned to India for several years now and had maintained my 'Green Card' status. However, I have now decided to return my green card and instead, apply for a business visa to visit the US company for a week or so, once in a year.

I work as an independent contractor(self-employed) for the US firm.

The US firm issues me Form-1099 every year for the services that I perform from India and I pay US taxes as per this form.

My questions are:

1. When I give up the green card and use the business visa for visiting for a week or so, should the US firm continue to issue me a Form-1099? If not, what is the alternative?

2. (or) if the US company continues to issue me the Form-1099, even though I am a business visa holder, should I be filing some kind of form with the US stating that I am not liable for taxes as I am no longer a resident of the US?

Please advise.
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
