Avoid investing in NPS at all costs.
I was trying to help my parents make annual payments to their account. But the system is so poorly set up that not even a government authorised agency is able to make new payments. Try doing it by yourself and the system just quits on you. No one to redress your complaints. Help centre number does not work. There is no provision for deductions in the tax return even though the scheme says so.
Another big, flop scheme launched by the GOI with much fanfare and as usual, poor execution.
On another unrelated note, NRIs cannot invest in any type of PF (provident fund).
