Im sure the atheists in Russia, Europe, Cuba, Vietnam . China, Cambodia, North Korea have been more intolerant and have killed their own people than NA. It said be more than 30 millions death by them.
More than any islamic terrorism in the past century.
Does he discuss or have any anwsers to it?

I dont understand how Israel does not come under religious intolerance by him, when in fact it was created on narrow religious and race basis.

Unless people like Sam harris stop exploiting the original works, there wont be any progression or human advance.
Currently his ideology is only to weaken Christianity that jews like him dont believe in it or in Jesus.

I think Sam Harris cannot cover *every issue* or item on everyone's agenda. He is probably covering the top 3, and that too what is of concern to him and his immediate surroundings (country where he lives, eg).

Just because communists have caused untold miseries does not absolve religions of hate crimes based on just one criterion: You don't belong to our group so you are enemy (of god) and must be destroyed. I'd say communism is another religion....

Communism does not advocate Love Thy Enemy but religions do atleast that's what the religious people preach, irrespective of how much they follow their own rules.

Is there any need for the world to be worried about Jainism? Absolutely no. Sam said - The crazier you are with Jainism the less the world needs to be worried about you. If there is a religion or cult that has warriors in their name. Like the ones in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the Shiv sena, then people hoping for peace need to be worried. Warriors think less and follow orders. When the orders are provided by religious leaders, the warriors can be unleashed to fight as the moral police. Be it against Valentines day in India, or Girl going to school in Afghanistan.

In any case, I started this thread separately from the debating thread that already exists to gather info about interesting lectures on reasoning. Here's another one from Sam.

"We're all atheists about most of the Gods that humanity ever believed in, some of us just go one God further", Richard Dawkins at his best.

May not work for India. Is there a God that the Hindu doesn't fear to not believe? :)

In some post of yours/Desi I saw a mention of Charvaka, and did some interesting reading as a result of that.
