Folks
I wanted to pick your brains and see how you personally feel on astrology.
By Astrology, I mean Vedic Astrology or any serious forms of analysis of your birth horoscope, (not the ones where you dont just look at Moon signs and Sun Signs as they appear in newspapers and TV channels.)
Do you use astrology as a road map or as a guide when it comes to following pursuits including moving to USA/R2I/R2A.
Do you guys who believe go to astrology when you are in hard times or do you use it even when everything is working right for you.
And do you have favorite websites/software that you have used for prediction that has been bang on target.
It is but fair that i reply to these questions first.
I personally use it as a guide. I believe that astrology is a science and prediction is an art. Blaming the science because somebody used the tool wrong is amateurish.
I dont base my yearly targets based on these movements but i generally plan using this guide for a 5 year range planning and I am still exploring this vast science to figure if the software available off market can really Predict based on one's horoscope.
Thanks again for your time.

It is a well proven science that we inherited from our ancestors. I base most of my major life actions after consulting Prem Jyotish. He is good.
And trust me, I have proper qualification, experience, authority to make these assertions.

Consulting with my astrologer, no not the regular kind, but the "vedic", I predict that some member in the near future will state that you are asserting your authority as an Admin while posting a response in this thread. Better yet, there will be references to slicing and dicing. :)

If an Astrologer predicts the events in your life for the next 5 years, just surprise him with a tight slap and ask him if he predicted this event in his life!
I'm sorry, i don't believe in some jackass predicting where my life would take me by reading some lines on my palm.

Peter Vidal's horoscope column in the Indian Express used to be quite true for me. I had my folks read it to me over the phone for a while after I came to the U.S.. Calls then cost a whopping 75c per minute.
I use my daily horoscope as a general guide. For fun. Those are often harmless enough:
"If you do what makes you feel happy, you will find you feel fulfilled. Your financial prospects will take a step in the right direction once you take the path of happiness".Can't go wrong with the above! Or:
"True friendship can be gender neutral. You may meet someone of either sex who your best interests at heart or shares your interest in new age ideas".Can go only a little wrong with the above : )

I think we need to start a thread about
How do we eradicate blind faith, Superstition, Prediction, Black Majic etc from India. If we can succeed in this, life in India, especially in the Rural areas will come a long way towards a progressive society.
I have a friend, who is a BS Com Sci, worked for several years in Middle East and India, and staunchly believes in these predictions.
His predictor told him that he will find a job in US, and his company's door will be facing West, and the company's roof will be shaped like a domb.
He eventually landed in Dallas and swears that his domb shaped Company's door is facing West and his Predictor was correct.
Now, while staying in Dallas, he has requested his predictor to pray for his promotion at his job.

I have read Linda Goodman's sign's book. It does not matter if you are a Leo or a Taurus, 70- 80% of the characters will be quite general.
Who will not accept something like " You are magnanimous and kind hearted, and always willing to help out the needy".

That example is not bad. A friend of mine who lives around here wanted a male child as his first one was a girl. His parents consulted an astrologer who wanted him to do it on certain days of the week with the moonlight coming into the room. He was explicitly told to let the moonlight fall on him while he was in the act! Can you believe it?
The strange part was he did have a boy! :emcrook:
