Kasab Gets Death

Finally after costing Indian tax payers nearly 50 crore rupees, lots of tamasha during proceedings, Kasab is handed death sentence today. This is a great moment to celebrate!

It's a landmark judgment and everyone who followed 26/11 must be very happy. No, it doesn't bring back those who were killed brutally by a group of brainwashed Pakistani jihadis, but it serves justice for their cause. More importantly, it now tells us that Karkere, Salaskar, Unnikrishnan kind of lives lost didn't go in vain.

Personally I feel, Kasab should be treated differently compared to other Indian criminals. First of all giving him full Indian Penal Code treatment so far, even though he is a killer who came illegally to India, wasn't right. I don't think America or any democracy would have given him full protection & rights as India provided. Anyway, they need to make some changes to the proceedings once he is hanged.

 • Hang him
 • Wrap his body in a Pakistani flag
 • Use some pig related item to decorate that body
 • Dump in Arabian sea with blaring Pakistani national anthem.
 • If a more serious message is needed for future jihadis, use some Quran chanting too, but not sure if that level of stretching is needed. Afterall, these recruits were trained in camps to the tune of religion anyway, that turned young humans into dastardly animals

From what I gather, not giving a Islamic burial and/or using anything to do with a pig, takes away from him of 72 virgins & promised jannat (heaven). That would be an effective way to deter future jihadi recruits who come & kill humans in India mindlessly.

Practically, I am sure most of these won't happen. :e In fact, I am already hearing that Maharashtra doesn't have any hangmen to hang him PuNe or Nagpur jail (only one guy left it seems). I am also hearing from Vicky Nanjappa of Rediff that 308 other people are waiting to be hanged in India, so Kasab will take that coveted 309th spot in the waiting line... Here's the best! independent India has hung only 50 odd people since 1947 per the same source. Also, the media is trying in contradictory style to show 'human' aspect of him by telling us that he cried out etc.

So keeping aside what I consider as the fitting response to deter jihadi recruitment in Pakistan, the reality would be that Kasab might grow into a 40 year old man in beard, eating off crores more of Indian tax payer money, while savoring hundreds of goats & chicken for decades in India  What a terrible waste of money, time, personnel protecting him and last but not the least, the scores of innocent animals that would be killed to feed this unwanted "guest"!

While they are it, they should take care of Afzal Guru too. It's high time India acted strongly against terrorism.

What really irked me the past couple of days was some serious intellectualizing BS over the television channels last couple of days with some 'panelists' advocating life imprisonment with some weird, twisted and deranged logic. Glad with the ruling all though it did take a long time. What do they say about justice delayed is justice ...

This is the real problem even barring the extraordinary lethargy shown by UPA in keeping Afzal Guru alive.

Kasab will be the 56th convict to be hanged in India
He will be one of the 309 prisoner in the country who will await his death, and if executed, he will become the 56th prisoner since Independence to be hanged in the gallows.

So film abhi baaki hain mere dost :( That's why I wrote in OP that I won't be surprised if this killer lives to see his 40th birthday.

You would love what Saisuresh Sivaswamy wrote here. Even with fast track, until the hanging happens, there's no hope.

Sentence delayed is sentence denied
The United Progressive Alliance has been anything but progressive when dealing with the various challenges facing the nation, but its worst reflexes are when confronted with challenges to the State -- be they from the Maoists, or from the terrorists, native and imported.

What is it about core challenges that makes the UPA look like deer caught in the headlights? Why does it give the impression of being a confused Arjuna on the battlefield? Who is the Krishna whose advice it awaits to be galvanised into action?

Is this true?
On April 27, 1995 Auto Shankar was hanged in Salem, India. Since 1995 only one execution, that of Dhananjoy Chatterjee in August 2004, has taken place.
Looks like "one a decade". Kasab, if he doesn't skip the queue, will probably die a natural death?

How about mutilating the body, while you are at it? after all Iraqi / Al-Qaeda did it to US contractors. And don't forget to have fun while you are doing it. The Afghans play buzkashi (polo) with the severed head.
How low can we stoop in our blind hatred and anger?

The moment of celebration will be when the master minds of the 26/11 carnage who are still in Pakistan are bought to justice.

#1, How sick!

Taking his life as per law is the maximum a country can do. That is example enough for those on whom examples can have any effect.

Once a person is dead, every religion and every human thought suggests a certain respect for the body. If it is unbelievable that a human can plan such mass murders, it is also unbelievable that sane rational humans can plan, even theoretically, such mutilation of a dead person's body or funeral.

Leave the other country's flag and national anthem alone. About the decorating the body idea, less said the better.

I am not sure about the analogy, but it seems like advocating putting a rapist murderer to death and then raping his female relatives for added measure.
