Jairam Ramesh has continued to be a good environmental minister. How is he a joker? He might have broken the protocol by speaking against home ministry in China, especially the govt policy of blocking couple of chinese equipment companies to sell in India but overall his record as a minister seems to be very good.

Same thing with Kapil Sibal and Shashi Tharoor (till he got entangled in IPL mess and corruption charges).

Looks like educated Indians aren't treated well in UPA govt. seeing how much hardship Jairam Ramesh is facing for breaking this protocol of not taking even one single stand against coterie. I used to think that this particular trait of singling out well educated politicians was limited to Bihar/UP state politics.

Speaking about Foreign policy and that too in China accusing the Home Ministry is a strict no-no even by the lowest standards held by MMS.

Most likely his resignation will be accepted. He can go and join the Chinese Govt. after that.

Based on Indian standards it is biggest crime for Ministers to speak their mind, but Ministers who are involved in thousands of crores of scandal are thriving in Indian politics.

This guy is a closet commie selling out to China like most of the CPI/CPM politburo members.
He literally undermined India and wants to sell chinese commie telecommunication equipment so his commie masters can listen to all the secrets.

Guess who else loves him? Chinese media which seldom has positive to say about India, but this joker/traitor has become worthy of their praise.

He has now earned a rare distinction for being praised in the lead editorial of the China Daily on Monday. The editorial advised India to view the issue of Chinese telecom equipment supplies to India from the “broader perspective of Sino-Indian friendship” while praising Ramesh for his statement about the home ministry’s paranoid attitude on the issue.

It is surprising to see Jairam Ramesh do this. He is one of the few ministers in UPA that at least look "educated". Compared to jokers like Digvijay Singh (who talks nonsense even though he is not minister and who alleges that Samjhauta Express blast was carried out by RSS !), Sharad Pawar (probably the most corrupt politician in the country), Mamta Banerjee (probably the most inefficient minister in the country), Mani Shankar Iyer (the joker who said that Savarkar was responsible for partition of India) and A. Raja (corrupt number 2), ministers like Sibbal, Tharoor and Kamal Nath stand out.
