$22B with one vault that is still unopened is a lot of wealth.

Who should it belong to?
• Royal family, as they probably stored it at the temple for safety.
• Hindu community, independent temple trust
• Central government
• Malyalees/State govt.
My initial take - if it is of little artistic/antique value let the temple trust use it as they deem fit. If it is of artistic/antique value expand an existing museum and display it. The money made by the museum belongs to us/govt. anyways.

The King(s)+people of the community did a good job hiding the treasure from the British... now, it'll be interesting to see how its managed by our beloved present day netas of this country.

Royal family already declared that they won't claim. Family stated that they always given to deities(temple) not to take it back. For this reason this temple trust is going to be the richest leaving Tirupathi trust on number 2.

My $0.02:

1) A part of the wealth can be sold and used for helping poor Hindu families, without any caste discrimination. AND WITHOUT getting ANY Bhrastachari Government Official in the loop. 100% transparency will be needed

2) Some idols can be used for worship.

3) Rest of the pieces and works of art etc should be displayed in a museum, the temple can just buy a piece of land and construct a secure museum

Many arguments from Keralites that this money should be spent on improving states' infrastructure. Well, there is certainly a lot to be improved and an admirable thought no doubt, but we all know what happened to previous funds granted for infrastructure development.
Maybe use it to restore heritage monuments in the state/country. Many ancient temples are in very poor state.

As an aside, I find amazing the photos in papers and images in the news -the dignitaries visiting the vaults for inventory making- including Judges and high level security officers are all entering wearing dhoti and towel. COnsidering the precious treasures they are dealing with, should they not be more securely clad?
They are entering on official purpose, surely they can wear their usual garbs. also did not notice any Non-Hindu officials in the selected group- deliberate or oversight?

The temple trust is reliable than any other. If Govt is to handle, I have nothing to say or let me not say it.

They are very securely clad indeed.

No place to hide something.

Congress will do better than the British. It will not escape them.

He is now planning to contest elections for the trustee of Anantha Padmanabha temple in Kerala :)

Sonia Gandhi orders enquiry of Padmanabha Swamy's assets.
"Who is this rich guy? Is he Subramanian Swamy's relative?", she asked :)

It seems like you are trying to invite British back to India.
