This guys has faked his certificates but reached a highly paid job in IBM. And he has also been working well. If he was working well, then why not give him a minimum punishment for lying and faking and let him continue his job?

A man, who dropped out after passing Std X, worked in top positions for Fortune 500 companies such as Hewlett Packard and IBM for several years using fake marks cards.
...
He was working as a deputy general manager at IBM and drawing a salary of 24 lakh per annum when he was arrested. His crime of using forged marks cards would have gone unnoticed if not for his wife, Latha, his relationship with whom he had recently hit turbulence. She blew his cover to the police and had him arrested.

With these fake marks cards, he secured his first job at Hewlett Packard (HP) as manager in 2005. He stayed at HP until 2008 and during that period, enrolled for a management course at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode in 2007, again using the fake marks cards.
After successfully completing the course, he changed jobs, joining Amicorp as director (Sales) and served there until 2011. In August 2011, he moved to IBM as a DGM and reportedly drew a salary of 24 lakh per annum.
Astonishingly, none of the companies where he worked managed to detect his fake certificates, despite claiming to have stringent norms in place. These companies claim to conduct background checks, yet Nandan managed to work for several years without being detected. To his tribute, Chandra Layout police, who are investigating the case, claim that Nandan?s work was a good worker and had even got pay hikes.
