The "Clean" BJP has proved they are clean. They just return back the part of the corrupt money and rush north to visit Delhi and to take a bath in ganga mayya to cleanse themselves.

[QUOTE]BJP is looking like the laughing jackass of the nation. "Who is the opposition to ask", says the "Chief" Minister WhyRuThereAppa. And the national BJP Opposition - what were they doing all these days then? Many people are asking Why R U there Appa after asking Maharashtra CM to resign and other ministers to resign for corruption.

But So What? Why should he resign?

1. Its true that there are mafia ministers who have robbed 60,000 Crore from Indian coffers, but then the same mafia brothers did not keep all the money to themselves. They believe in capitalisma and trickled dowm economics. They paid money to the CM's sons also.

2. Second reason : Nobody has asked him to quit.
http://ibnlive.in.com/news/nobody-has-asked-me-to-resign-says-yeddyurappa/135603-37.html?from=rhs

3. He and his family have returned back the corruption assets. So he is not guilty.
http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=89997

4. After all he said it best: "I have done what my predecessors did"
Surely his predecessors like Gowdas have made money, so why pick on him?

4. He is concious of carbon footprint and takes the ride with the Congress PM to Delhi instead. :)
http://ibnlive.in.com/news/bjp-may-ask-yeddyurappa-to-step-down-today/135560-37-64.html?from=rhs

5. Others may have criticized Congress CMs to dashing to Delhi to take orders.
But surely when he goes to Delhi, that criticism cannot be levied.
http://www.zeenews.com/news669233.html

5. Surely he wants something, something big in return before he has to go.
Besides he has already fallen at the legs of Sathy Sai Baba. So he must be forgiven.
What does Yeddy want before he resigns?

6. He is working hard to expose other money bag politicians.
If you are naked, do vastra haran of every body else to show them naked.
http://vickynanjappa.blogspot.com/2010/10/will-expose-all-money-bag-policitians.html

7. TINA: There is no Alternative.
The threat of a potential split in the party is compounded by the absence of a charismatic leader who can take over from Yeddyurappa, whose Lingayat caste is a big part of the BJP's vote bank.
In combat mode, Yeddy likely to survive

As expected, he stays. Fun starts now. HD will pile on this.

BJP was given a pretty warm welcome in karnataka. Almost all the recent election they have been doing extremely well, for a first timer.

while in bihar development mattered, here it is the caste has dominated. nitin.g should have done better here. I feel he screwed up. Advani too...

Yup.

BJP says since "Yeddyurappa has given his view points and clarifications", hence he is CERTIFIED BY BJP to be clean!!!
What a neat procedure? :))

Though I do not know much about KN politics, but it appears that KN CM survived this time. I think BJP will consider this case as a Cost of doing Business in State. Pachayat election is coming and BJP may need this guy for that. Also this is the first Southern state penetrated by BJP. So they may not want to loose this state that easily.

In game of politics today UPA lost 2 CM (MH-AP), NDA kept 2 CM (BH, KN).

Let?s enjoy the game.

Isn't BJP following double standards when it comes to corruption of its own?

Without double standard, hypocrisy and shrewdness no political party can survive in India. BJP is not party of saint. TN-AP is less corrupt than KN ? I don’t know. May be may be not.

I think voters are much smarter than what we think. Bihar is latest example. Gujarat is second one and Delhi where Dixit run the show from such a long time. So I would say let voters decide.

Corruption is the fees charge to tax payer for providing good governance. If he will not perform KN people will kick him out sooner or later.

Thanks for being frank!

PS: Out of curiosity, did you exhibit such understanding and tacit condoning of corruption in other related threads? :p

At a time the Bharatiya Janata Party is taking the moral high ground on corruption, the land allotment scam in Karnataka involving Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is turning out to be a severe embarrassment. No matter what party president Nitin Gadkari throws at the Congress and the United Progressive Alliance government on alleged corruption in 2G spectrum allocation, the Commonwealth Games, and the Adarsh Society, the BJP will be unable to gain any political advantage without acting decisively in Karnataka. Mr. Yeddyurappa faces serious allegations of nepotism and irregularities: wrongful de-notification of lands and allotment to family members. Moreover, his defence is weak, a political counter devoid of any legal merit. While acknowledging that his family members were benefitted, he claimed that his predecessors belonging to the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) too had made similar allotments. This line of defence makes a strong pitch for a thorough probe into all such instances of de-notification of land, but hardly absolves him of the charges of wrongdoing. Similarly, while the Chief Minister's announcement that his family members would surrender the lands is welcome, it cannot be used to gloss over the serious procedural irregularities and the legal infirmities in the original de-notification and allotments.

Yet again the purported party with a difference has proven (If there was any doubt left) that it is no different than the grand old party of 125 years when it comes to outright loot and corruption and shady deals. Yeddi's love for power and to cling to the coveted chair at any cost is very simple, the guy knows if he resigns now he is done for, never again will he taste power, so he blackmailed the central leadership into submission and is now basking under the sun till it lasts. After being admonished by the BJP top brass he will now be careful to not leave trails which will lead directly to him or his immediate family, hopefully he will do some home work and find the more trustworthy of swiss banks and other havens to store the loot.
