Whatever....is the world!!!

This is my new diary..actually its the same diary but ..with new name....its about..well...hmm..nothing ..yes,.as my old diary (i know some of you nasties may say that..but whatever!!!)....I am done with my R2i process..the trails, the tribulations,difficulties,troubles,settling phase,school problems,job problems, managing maids,cooks ..whatever is over and done with it...and they(yes i am referring to problems) continue to come on and off..more on than off but hey this is Maya's life and things happen (and no i haven't still figured out how much is enough?).........this is about my day to day life..IN INDIA...here i will be writing about my most favorite subject...Me and my life........If you don't really plan to go to India for next 10 years or looking for some(lot) time to kill till your green card or USC comes.....then.....you are at the right place..:)..If not.....its ok..still you can read i won't object..:))welcome to my world of ....whatever!!!!.

My ankle is hurting like anything..and there is no help around..my maid's daughters mother in law has passed away..for the third time this month..and we are paying for the last rituals for last three times...can she stop dying repeatedly now..once is fun..second time its OK..but dying third time... isn't it bit too much..and when i am in so much pain? have some mercy on other people..everything has a time!!...i am going to see orthopedic tomorrow..i think i will come back with the cast..bummer!!..life is going to be really hard with broken ankle..but what to do..things happen... this is life..may be my mother will grace my home to help me out..or may be my sister,silver lining, i tell you. All i need to do now is to keep my maids absence secret..otherwise i wont even find them on the phone!!!....i can do that..how difficult that is to keep quite.. piece of cake!!

This month of shravana..so many Haldi-kumkum invites floating around..it was fun for first few..but now they are really jarring ..my mom who has lost her husband few years back gets really depressed as there is custom that they only call women who are shuhasinis( with husband)..she used to be really excited about this month.. arranging one haldi-kumkum at our house and attending all the functions she got invited..she looked at it as a great social event..but now she feels left out..cheated...what this got to do with husbands anyway..i really feel bad about this...and there are these few really modern women who call widows for halidi-kumkum loudly proclaiming that they don't believe in all this rubbish..thats why they called mayas mom to the function.. at least have some decency or care for other peoples feeling yaar... at least dont talk infront of them ..as if they are some charity case who needs salvation....this has taken away all the charm of this month for me.

I really don't understand some Indian customs that always tend to support men. If a man loses his wife, he is not treated any differently, why is the woman made to realize the absence of a man in her life? During the funeral of one of my maushis, people commented "She is lucky. Savashin geli (she died as a married woman)". What is so lucky about that? It really sucks.
