I am currently in India and planning to return to US in few months. We have been in India for last 2 years and working in a US-based firm. Plan to return back within the same firm or another. We plan to buy a house right away in US. Will there be any problem getting a mortgage and buying right away? Credit history, etc is all good.

Yes , the mortgage company will ask for last 6 months pay stub,last two years of tax return, will look for continuous job for last 3 years.

Getting approval for loan is difficult now a days.

Some bank may give you if you put heavy down payment but the rate will be slightly higher.
