Posting to a wider forum,
we are selling our house in US, My husband is there, My signatures on the escrow papers apparently require me to go to the american consulate for the notary, we are in hyd,
has anyone here done this before..
Appreciate any advises even if you are guessing....

As you said even guesses were welcome, I am posting the following, even though it might not add too much to what you are looking for.
One of my neighbors (in Dallas metro) moved back to Bangalore about 2 years ago, leasing his house for 1 year. At the end of the term, he sold the house through a realtor, without ever stepping in US. I am not in touch with them anymore, but his next door neighbor did confirm that the whole transaction was handled by the realtor, without the owner ever coming in person.

I believe the deal is that you are the joint owner of the house and pehaps that is why you have to go through all this.
How about if your husband takes over complete ownership of the title so that then he can sell it without your involvement. I suggest getting in touch with a title company and see what the details of this process are.

I think he is pursuing the power of attorney way now, but it will still need me to give him the signatures and again the notary issue comes up, .........

Go to American Consulate and get notarized the documents by a american notary.
