Pool of Investors for India - Equities

Post by VRG »

I'm inviting fellow R2Is for discussions/suggestions who are wanting to invest in Indian equities using PMS route. This will help us to avoid PFIC. The focus for right now is investing in equities but can venture into Debt and other instruments too as we gain more experience.

Thanks to RRK who met up with some ppl @ Kotak Securities. He mentioned "btw, in my search so far, I find Kotak has better trading software, good web features for account management and very competitive brokerage fees. Dont look at the website, all figures are negotiable."

So I think it is a good place to start. I need to know which other members are interested in this. If we have a group of ppl, we can negotiate the management fee and other aspect of the agreement better. It will also help us bring up some good points/issues/concerns.

I think it is a good opportunity as the Rs might appreciate even more in next 5 yrs so any investment done in Rs will have better returns.

We can summarize the details and move this thread under "India Portfolio for NRI's" once we're done with our research.

Thanks.

VRG - Count me in as a beginner. I need to review the details before commiting money. I am not having any equity exposure in Indian equity market yet.

Great. No commitment is required at this point..:) I'm at a very initial stage of information gathering.

We can always negotiate better as a group. First thing, everybody wants to know is the investment amount, based on this we'll be routed to relevant resources.

Trust me..:) We will make sure that we covered every aspect of it, will even ask the experts for their comments/feedback once we have the framework.

Thanks.

Yes, definitely. Such info will help us to make a list of things to discuss and also from a comparison standpoint.
