I am still using 2003 M S Office package, and had done a lot in Autocad
and i think, if you have Adobe writer that can do too. ( right? )

But he does not have it, in India.

Any other third party software on net, famous one can do it?

I generally print the paper, scan it and save as a pdf file, but he does not have a scanner.

:(

does anyone have used any famous such package from here, and familiar?

If he has MS Word installed then he can use http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/Writer.asp . This installs as a print driver and all you have to do is to File -> Print and choose pdf as the output.

Long back I used to use CutePDF. THat worked ok.
I think it is to be paid for.

Your list has some strong editor's choice programs. Should try those out. Cnet is a reliable site.
