During R2I, we plan to take with us our DVD collection bought here in the U.S. Now these are Region 1 + NTSC DVD's
Can we get these to play in India? WHat DVD players would we need to buy to support NTSC/PAL and mutiregion playing options?
R2I'ers who already have this experience, could perhaps kindly post their comments?
Thanks

Most of the TVs in India support NTSC but I'm not sure about DVD player. Probably you can buy a portable DVD player from here, not that expensive and also easy to carry.

I brought all my US DVDs here and works fine with my philips dvd player bought here. For all Philips player, you can easily find a hack to remove the region coding on the web. I found it in 5 mins. I don't know about other DVD players.
No worries about NTSC/PAL. This player plays both. I have a Samsung LCD TV which also plays both.

Almost all DVD players made these days are "Region Free" - i.e. you can play discs from any part of the world.
As far as NTSC/PAL goes - as long as either one of your TV or DVD player supports both - it should be fine. The good news is that there are a lot of models on the market now that do support both.
