I'm looking for a cheap laptop (not netbook) primarily to be used for surfing, Skype etc. < $400 will be good!

Good choice to not select a netbook. I bought one when the netbook craze set in and was sorely irritated / pissed off for it was too small (both keyboard and screen) and uncomfy for my liking :-( ... anything smaller than 15+ inches display is a No-No for me.

Great deal.. And i think newegg used to have 10% bing cashback which might bring this down to almost 300 bucks..

Hey, no flash support. IPAD can only be a toy for most people. (maybe to show off ! ). I may buy one and have it around to check my mail and similar stuff. It can never replace my primary laptop..

Really good spec. But with 15.6" display, it will be on the heavier side to carry around.

Fujitsu has managed to put together a good package with up-to-date hardware for use as a home cinema-style system. This is a solid, basic multimedia machine with everything you need on board, and for a fair price.
However the AH550 would not be suitable for intensive gaming, as it has too little graphics capability.
