Vacation plan to the US

We are planning our vacation trip (15 days) to the US in August, starting either from India or from the Gulf. I am thinking of taking SOTC as everything is prearranged and nothing much to plan by ourselves. Has any of your friend or relative taken the SOTC tour to the US? Have you heard about any good or bad experience with them? Please post any suggestions, ideas.

Did you book it with SOTC? I never like these packaged tours because they push you like cattle around all the sites that at the end of the vacation, it is all one big haze.
