Hi,
I am shopping for Air tickets DFW-MAA to travel in May.
Getting good deals only on GULF airlines. (code share with AA). Has anybody travelled in Gulf airlines?
Please post your experience/comments. I am sending my family alone, so just making sure. Thanks.

I & family have travelled them Mumbai-London via Abu Dhabi a few times. It was good experience every time.

It is similar to Emirates in terms of in flight facilities and services. The check-in process was good. Staff was considerate.

B2B and ANUSRIL,
Thanks for your comments. I am getting mixed feedback about this airline. Looks like few people haven't had good experience from Muscat to Chennai in terms of Aircraft.
I think I will avoid this one.

Vel,

How much was the fare and what was the difference with the other airlines?
I have not yet started looking at the fares but I might have to make a trip sometime in May and will be looking at DFW-HYD or DFW-MAA.

I am travelling in May and looking for a direct flight from DFW-MAA. Only lufthansa is there and the price quoted is $1650 including taxes.

Any comments about this.?

Personally I would like to avoid Gulf airways because of the stop overs and some unpleasant experiences but sometimes their prices are irresistable.

Peace_lover,

The only other option with Direct flights is British Airways but this involves a change of airports between Gatwick and Heathrow - you might not even consider this a direct flight. I am also not sure if the timings are conveninent. You can check with the travel agents or on Orbitz or Mobissimo.

If you are travelling in May, try Lufthansa's website:
www.weflyhome.com
The roundtrip fare to DFW-MAA is around 1550.

Intially, the travel agent quoted me 1200 in Gulf Airlines for DFW-MAA.
That's why I was seriously considering this.

Sometimes, Northwest offers very good deal on NWA.com
Yesterday, I found a fare of 1010 including tax for DFW-HYD.
I avoided this since I didn't find a good connection from HYD to Coimbatore.
We have nobody to help in HYD when my family lands in HYD.

The total is 1663.34 inclusive of taxes for a round trip. This is almost what the travel agent quoted me. I think with an infant and a child it would be better for me in lufthansa.

Do u know if the rates will come down during February?

I intend to travel during May 14th or so.

I check March fares and they are $ 1472.34

So hopefully by end of Feb the prices for May may come down
