Aussies win the toss and elect to bat.
Splendid atmosphere. Magnificient catch by Yuvy to start India's innings. Then Sreesanth follows up with 2 wayward deliveries and a beauty to trap LBW.
India right on top keeping Aussies at 19/2 in the 5th over. So far the team looks very coherant considering 4 oldies (Zahi, Gangu, Tendu, Rahu) back. I can't believe that Hayden just off the mark after 8 deliveries!
Can India continue the 20-20 Chakh De form here? Electrifying crowd in Bangalore and the outfield looks great ;)

Watched the match on Zee sports. India had the aussies on the back foot at 90/4. Clarke totally killed the indians from that point on. Powar was a bad selection. The 3 full tosses he bowled were absolutely ridiculous. I can see the media ripping Dhoni apart for his captaincy after this match for those crucial overs from Powar.

Yes. Powar bowled one great over (1st one) and then followed up with 9 stupid ones. Sreesanth gave India a tremendous advantage at 90/4. Powar and RP Singh faltered today giving away more than 120.
Harbhajan should have been in the team by miles over Powar.
One more very evident thing is Ganguly's poor fielding. Unless he picks up his batting very quickly, Gambhir is knocking on his place and Gangu will be history.
Can India pull 309 in 50 overs? The pitch and outfield certainly is out there. India needs to emulate Clarke's cool innings of not taking risks.
Go India! You can do it..

India are very shaky right now. 9/1. Rain stopped the play.
Tendulkar shook his head as though he thought the play should have been stopped when rain started.

I was hoping that we get pummeled in the first ODI so that the "boys" come back to earth and put on a spirited display in the rest of the series.
But to squander the superb start and let Clarke & Haddin get away was reminiscent of the same old defensive mindset. Not sure if Powar was the only culprit, everyone seemed content and waiting for things to happen. 200 would have been a good score for Aus at that point.
Tejasvee... I am not sure if you are referring to Gangu's fielding in general or today's performance. I thought today he made a couple of good stops at the short extra cover position. Later he pulled a hamstring and was off the field. Probably that's why he did not open with Tendle.
The boys are down knowing that they have let Aus off the hook. It will take a miraculous effort to win today.

Looks like it is still raining?
How ironic if this ODI literally becomes a 20 or so over game for India? Maybe that is the only way we can win it!

The rain has stopped. Mop up in progress. I don't know how many overs will be cut, but I would love to see at least 25 overs of Indian batting. The crowd so far only had the first 90 good minutes of Indian cricket. They need their money's worth and hope they get a wonderful knock even in a damp outfield... Hint: Just bypass the field and go the aerial route:p

Maybe my bias against Gangu skipped those two good stops from memory. I only recall him diving late in short extra cover when Sreesanth got a slow ball wrong. Anyway you look at it, Gangu's days are counted. Maybe Rahu and Tendu's also.
