I Like the Hyderabad team more, Gilly,Symonds,Gibbs,Styris,Afridi,Rohit Sharma and RP Singh - all can be good 20-20 players
Any idea what are the ratio for the playing 11 ( between foreign players, local and under 19) We would then have guys like Badrinath,Yomahesh,Anirudh Srikanth,Abhinav Mukund,Ashwin along with the bidded players.
I would have been good if there was some regional bias in the bidding. Would be better to relate Dinesh Karthik to Chennai and Dhoni to Kolkatta.same way Uthappa for Bangalore and Agarkar for Mumbai.Becomes dificult to relate to such hop-skotch teams.

Ricky Ponting gone for only 400K is a shame. He's arguably the best player in limited overs cricket.

Anyone knows how this thing works
So does Dhoni gets the entire 1.5 mill or does BCCI gets it and gives "some" to Dhoni.

I totally condemn such auctioning of cricket players. This takes the game to its commercial lowest point ever. I think cricket is going to lose its charm big time with such blatant and poor commercialization.

I find this really hard to swallow. Babies are getting millions while legendary players getting peanuts. I understand this is market economics, but there is a streak of jingoistic irrational exuberance in this who circus. Hopefully it will shake out the chaff after the first season and saner valuations based on performance will prevail, if this survives.
My only interest in this is to see how players from the same national sides handle their colleagues in the opposition. For e.g, how does Ponting vs Blee, Gangu vs Kumble, Jayasuriya vs Muralidharan.

it sucks completey. Be ready for the demise of the actual cricket:(
On other hand, no wk in most of the teams while chennai got 2 ( dhoni and parthiv ); what will they do without a wk
and shame that no one wanted mcgrath and hussey. while kaif and murali karthik were more in demand
