If you got to do it again: arranged or love marriage?

I saw this video in another thread:

I always thought it'd be nice to experience having an arranged marriage with my dearie... But after watching the above video, I am thinking: "Ayooo Paapa...no way.... I'll go for love marriage vonly."

If you got to do it again, would you pick an arranged marriage or love marriage? :)

Thoughts on the video? :) I thought the woman was making it way more komplikated than it needs to be. :)

Now please let's stick to the usual and customary definition of arranged & love marriage and not get all technical about their definitions.

To digress a bit here: Suyog hasn't posted Part II of that video there. Part II is where both the husband and wife are going through a bitter divorce!
Smoking is a big no-no for me. That too, just the thought of the woman who might bear my kids, smoking, would have definitely ended that "arranged marriage meeting".

Love marriage it is, always, for me!

Love or arranged the end is the same. It is only how you get there. Each come with their own pro's and con's. Either is good with me.

Will have to ask my wife. After spending 8 years with me, I am not sure if she would want to do it again.

I have watched this video before and kind of felt that I viewed an interview! It was little artificial to me! The woman sounds too tough and man sounds too nice :-) However I like the "Be Adaptive" and " Variety is the spice to Life" messages from it! I think that is basis of any successful marriage doesn't matter if it is "Arranged" or "Love".

Marriage by itself is a Gamble! So given another chance, I would like to try the one I have not tried before! Love marriage it is!!!

Looking at a few cranky, guys/gals who were involved in divorce battles, I felt they would have separated eitherways arranged or not. If everyone who marries are "Simple half full guys, who adapt when adapting is required. Cross the bridge when they get there", all marriages would be simple beautiful partnerships, with minor nook jhonks/arguements, followed by patchups. BTW, I jused loved the way the guy came back (as quoted above) after she expressed incompatibility. That part was very well scripted.

Exactly! She has an attitude of telling the guy "why would i marry you?/convince me if you can!" throughout their chat. IMHO, in such a meeting the aim should be to check if their is enough reason to marry each other, not to show bhaav (attitude) like the woman does.

True! I am sure that is Part II. The questions she asks the man!!! And then refuses to answer question "Are you religious". Says, my relationship with God is my business. !!! Really,a very bad example of the modern thinking Indian woman.

Do such women really exist? Who ask such questions at boy-meets-girl meetings? I even tried to imagine if a single magenta from here could be the lady in the video... I thought of pretty much every possible magenta from A to Z, to be extra sure I didn't miss O (I mean Okonomi) also. The mind nodded strongly in the negative for such imagining.

Aiyo pavam... poor guy is already balding. and he is such a cute Softie Icecream type.. and she is treating and looking at him like he is a bug in the rug under her high-heeled feet. And he keeps buying her flowers so many times in the video (or do they show the same thing many times?).

And, she asks him 'Will your parents live with us after marriage?" !!! Is that a question to ask? Is that a way to ask that question? Sheesh!!!

Speaking for myself, if I was his mother or sister, I would march in there and take him away by the arm, telling him, "Let's go from here... we can find much better girl for you..."

I completely agree. This video has a modern indian (or any nationality) woman all wrong. No educated woman can be this crude and impolite. Man Hater, is how she came across.
Do women like her eventually get the dildos they rightly deserve ?!

Poor guy...but why did his script say he wants that girl for a wife ? My devilish mind thinks he wants to punish his mother for some long ago slight that he had never forgot.

I have noticed that there is a greater propensity for US born desi boys to want an arranged marriage with a des-raised girl (you know, that specimen which is convent educated, wheatish, can mix east & west , cook, but can also be a hand-model if required etc. etc..), whereas the US born desi girls raised mostly LIA make a yuk face at the notion.

This video is a fake! It says that 95% of the arranged marriages do not end in divorce. But, those marriages happen in villages, where the girl doesn't even get to look at the boy before the marriage. Talking back to husband after marriage is forbidden.

Most likely, the couple shown in the video will end in divorce. Want to take a bet?.

Given a choice I would go for the arranged marriage I mentioned in my first para seen in 1940s movies .
